
A New Generation of Patriots Inspires Hope

Alabama’s Brilyn Hollyhand is an 18 year-old political Gen Z firebrand whose goal, right now, is to do political commentary and serve in advisory roles. He’s the one who called out the Republican National Committee on Fox News for not having a Youth Advisory Council and got the attention of Ronna McDaniel, Chairman of the RNC at that time. Having seen that interview, Ms. McDaniel reached out to Brilyn to ask if HE would agree to be a part of such a council. He agreed and flew to D.C. to meet with the RNC.
Today, the young Tuscaloosan, born and raised, chairs the RNC's inaugural Youth Advisory Council to give Generation Z (born from 1996-2012) a seat at the table going into the 2024 election.
I asked Brilyn to recap what inspired him to join the hostile world of politics at such a young age. He said that the 2016 election “drew him in.” He saw the decline of and division in our country and wanted to do something to engage his fellow students in the importance of thinking about their future.
That is when he founded The Truth Gazette in 2017, a conservative news service, in an effort to “fight the fake news media.” You can watch his interviews with Who’s Who in American politics from every 2024 Republican candidate to Robert Kennedy Jr. on the Brilyn Hollyhand Show/Truth Gazette which he launched just last year.

I received an eye-opening response when I asked Brilyn whether Gen Z is moving in a conservative or in a Marxist direction. “My generation is moving conservative which is breaking the mold! For decades, the Democrats have had a stronghold on my age group by dangling free things at us.”
When I asked him why he thought Gen Z is choosing a conservative path, he said, “Covid!” Governments “shut us up in our homes, made us wear face diapers, and we witnessed oppressive government.”
I asked Brilyn to address the most pressing issues affecting his fellow 18 year-olds and he immediately answered, “It’s the trifecta. The economy is number one.” Current statistics show that Gen Z is more likely not to be able to afford rent, much less a home, and are blaming Biden for the bad economy.
Number two, Brilyn says, is the open southern border and the lack of law and order. As Brilyn emphatically expressed on Mike Huckabee’s Show in June: “My generation doesn’t want to grow-up in an America where law and order is just some TV show!”
The murders of Laken Riley and Jocelyn Nungaray, by criminal illegals being allowed to invade our country by the Biden regime, are first and foremost on the minds of many Gen Zers, or, ‘Zoomers.’ A lawless America is not what they desire.
Third on his list of issues is America’s standing in the world. He believes that we are no longer respected on the world stage.
Brilyn confidently declares “My generation has a unique opportunity to unite this country.”
President Donald Trump has spoken with Brilyn inquiring as to how to win the youth vote. Brilyn’s answer is simple. He tells President Trump that Trump needs to engage young people on social media and to be his “authentic” self in doing so.
So far, Brilyn gives a hearty thumbs-up on President Trump’s efforts to connect with a young audience. He says his generation is not on Truth Social, but they do have a large presence on Instagram and TikTok. President Trump engages with Gen Z on TikTok.
Brilyn believes President Trump will give Brilyn’s generation a chance to revitalize the American dream and that is why he is doing a speaking tour of college campuses and partnering with the RNC and Turning Point USA to get out the vote.
There’s a sense of urgency here and Brilyn Hollyhand knows it. As President Ronald Reagan is quoted as saying, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We didn't pass it to our children in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free.”
Brilyn has taken President Reagan’s words to heart and has written his first book, cleverly titled in that same vein, One Generation Away: Why Now Is The Time To Restore American Freedom. The book is described in this way on his website: “A rising teenage conservative star offers his battle plan in his debut book for Gen Z to reclaim this country by returning to faith, family, and freedom.” The book made its debut in July. To quote yet another great American, “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands by now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.” - Thomas Paine, 1776. With young patriots like Hollyhand, there is hope for a generation.
